Our new website will make the process of finding equipment much simpler. We’ve partnered with Point Of Rental Systems to create an online experience that will make looking for equipment via our website much easier and more convenient. Let’s take a moment to go over some of the new features.

Database Driven Online Equipment Catalog

By partnering with the same company that created our counter sales software, we were able to create an online equipment catalog that is interactive in ways similar to searching for items on Amazon or other online retail stores. You either search by clicking on a category or typing in keywords and then a list of items matching your search comes up. Then you can click on the item for more information.

Quote Request

Our new website also gives you the ability to generate a quote request. You can select items you would like to rent and get a price estimate (not including extras such as tax, damage waiver, or delivery fees). You may then submit the quote request to our stores where our staff will follow up with you to provide you more details about the cost of renting the equipment.

Please note that the quote request is NOT a reservation. It is simply for the purpose of contacting us for more information about the equipment. To reserve equipment, you must contact one of our locations either by phone or by stopping by the showroom and speaking to our staff.

Forms and Applications

All of our forms and applications are available under the Resources menu on the Navigation Bar. PDF files of our credit application and update forms, employment applications, and donation request forms can be found here. We have also included a PDF file with information on our rental policies as well as links to our blog and information on our propane sales.

Enhanced Mobile Experience

Our mobile website also got an upgrade and boasts many of the same features as the full website. When you’re on the go or on the job site, you’ll have 24/7 access to our equipment catalog and rental rates.

We hope our new website will make your renting experience a breeze. Take a moment and go check out the new website for yourself at

Toys For Tots: It’s A Wrap

Posted: December 26, 2013 by Bunce Rental in News & Events

Our final weekend of the Toys For Tots Toy Drive was our best this year. The amount of toys dropped off at our stores over weekend brought our total to double what it was on Friday.  We also surpassed our goal of collecting 1500 toys this year. Our grand total was 1618 toys.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Toy Drive and joined us to help local children in need  have a happier holiday and ensure they received Christmas presents.

We’d also like to thank companies, churches, organizations, and classes who took up collections and dropped them off at our stores. Your generosity is amazing.

To see photos from our toy drive check out our Facebook page.

We hope you had a great Christmas and plenty of quality time with friends and family.  All of us at Bunce Rental, American Party Place, and American Medical Rental & Supply wish you a Happy New Year!

I can without a doubt say that the best part of my job at Bunce Rental is putting together the toy drive for Toys For Tots. Decorating the store, egging on the other stores as we compete to see who can collect the most toys, printing fliers and posting information online gets me excited before the toy drive even starts. Maybe it’s part of me that never left my first childhood. Maybe it’s seeing the looks on the Toys For Tots volunteers faces every time I bring a truck load of toys in. Maybe it’s the knowledge that our toy drive means more local kids who might otherwise not be excited about Christmas morning, do get to be excited and experience the wonder of Christmas.

Maybe it’s all of it. And it’s the stories that tell of how people participate in our toy drive. With only two years under our belt, I can tell you a number of heartwarming stories.

  • During the first year of the toy drive, I expected to collect a couple hundred toys among all the stores. We ended up with 772 toys that year. I remember my South Hill store calling to tell me that one of their customers had almost filled up their boxes after going on a shopping spree with his grandsons to buy toys to donate. No sooner did we pick up the toys and empty their box, they called to tell me the box was already half full again. The toys we just picked up were still en route to our Tacoma store.  We began calling our South Hill store, “The South Pole.”
  •  One of the first donations of toys our Tacoma store received consisted of about a half dozen handmade toys. Wooden cars, trucks, and boats.
  • An employee at our medical division was on a winning streak at the casino. More toys in their boxes in 2011 usually meant two things 1) she had won at the casino again and 2) she had spent her winnings on toys for Toys For Tots.
  • Receiving this fax in 2012 from “The South Pole”, indicating their goal for the Toy Drive was to collect half of the toys to reach the company wide goal of 1000 toys.

  •    Last year while on vacation during the toy drive, I logged into Facebook to discover our downtown Puyallup store had posted a photo of boxes dropped off at their location, consisting of over 1400 toys.  Company wide we collected 2777 toys for Toys For Tots.

This year’s toy drive officially kicks off today. Though I have to admit, the majority of our stores put our boxes out earlier this week.  The window display advertising the toy drive in Tacoma went up Monday.  I don’t know if we’ll collect 2777 toys again this year, but we’d sure like to try.

If you want to participate in the Toys For Tots Toy Drive, all you have to do is drop off new, unwrapped toys at any of our locations, including American Medical Rental & Supply and American Party Place between now and December 23. From there, we take them to the Toys For Tots Warehouse for sorting and distribution to local children.

To those have you that have participated in our toy drive in the past, thank you. Thank not only for helping local children and families in need, but totally exceeding the expectations I had for this toy drive when it began. Thank for embracing the Toys For Tots Toy Drive and joining with us in reaching out to the community.

While honey bees aren’t typically associated as a home improvement or a lawn and garden project, the recent swarm provided a learning opportunity for our staff at the Tacoma store.

When the swarm first appeared one sunny afternoon and perched in a tree located at our back lot, we were faced with a dilemma of what to do with the honey bees. Having just left their previous hive, splitting from the rest of the colony, and full of honey, these bees were lethargic and would have been difficult to irritate. However, on Washington Street near a noisy rental yard in an industrial area would pose a hazard for them as well as our staff and customers.

As a protected species and important to pollinating food crops and plants, our only option was to move them somewhere else. One of our mechanics, Dan, put in a phone call to a friend in Montana to find out what could be done about moving the bees elsewhere. His recommendation was to start with the Washington State Department of Agriculture and contact them about sending someone to move the bees.

When I got to the section of their website pertaining to honey bees, I found a link to the Washington State Beekeepers Association. From there I was able to find a link to the Pierce County Beekeepers Association.  On their home page was a phone number for reporting swarms of honey bees. I left a message and by the afternoon, one of their members had arrived to move the bees. Armed with a box hive and a bucket on pole, the beekeeper herded the bees into the hive, his goal specifically to get the queen bee into the hive. Once the queen bee moved to the box hive, the other bees would follow her attracted by her scent.

Once 90% of the hive was in the box, the beekeeper loaded up the bee-filled box hive into his vehicle. They would be relocated to his bee farm. Most of the remaining bees that were not herded into the hive would follow on their own.

Our Tacoma store received a new shipment of 2700 PSI pressure washers, along with a new 4000 PSI pressure washer and scrubber brush attachment from Pressure Pro.

PressurePro 2700 PSI Pressure Washer

The PressurePro 2700 PSI pressure washer, along with our 2500 PSI pressure washers from Simpson and Shark, give you the washing power you need to clean grime and dirt from sidewalks, driveways, fences, and houses.

PressurePro 4000 PSI Pressure Washer & Surface Cleaner Attachment

Our 3500-4000 PSI pressure washers with a surface cleaning or scrubber brush attachment provide the extra washing power needed to clean those harder to pressure wash spots.
